Florida State’s Sami Pochowski has shuffled her way to the right side of the bubble on Saturday morning at the 2015 Florida-hosted Last Chance Meet with a 1:00.49 in prelims of the 100 yard breaststroke.

Not only is that a new lifetime best for Pochowski (her previous lifetime best was done at a last chance meet last season to just sneak in to NCAA’s), but it has now moved her up from a tie for 39th in the country (which is dead-center on the bubble) up to 37th (which based on last year would put her in to the NCAA Championships). Her previous season-best was a 1:00.77 done in a time trial at this meet on Friday.

If Pochowski were able to shave off another tenth-or-two in finals, she could lock up her NCAA invitation and end her season with individual swims in Greensboro.

Other standout swims on Saturday morning:

  • Texas A&M’s Corinne Priest swam a 53.70 in the women’s 100 fly, and Vanderbilt’s Breanna Sapienza was 2nd in 53.71. Neither will earn NCAA qualifying with those times, but for Priest that’s 1.6 seconds faster than her best.
  • Florida’s Nick Alexiou won the men’s 200 free in 1:34.45, which is a new season best. That launches him up to 16th-best in the country. That should lock up his NCAA qualification.
  • Auburn’s Sarah Reynolds swam a 53.75 in the 100 back. That’s a tenth shy of her season-best, and she’s still on the outside of NCAA qualifying looking in.
