Rikke Moeller Pedersen Gives Fans Details On Her Preparation For Trials

With the Danish Championships and European Championships Trials coming quickly Rikke Moeller Pedersen let her fans know that she has been training well and is very confident in her preparation.

On her Facebook page Pedersen told her fans that her preparation is going well, but she also feels the pressure with the Danish Championships only three weeks away, “Another week is almost gone. Trials come closer and I can feel the tension on the NTC increases.”

She goes on to give some of the details of her training, “For those who know a bit more about swimming I ended the week with swimming 3×200 broken (150m + 50m) . Float the last 200 meters in a total time of 2.22.5 – what a lovely confidence that I could get from training!”

Her most recent results from competition in the 200 was a 2:23.51 which she put up in Ballerup on March 2nd. Last year at the same meet Pedersen only swam the prelims posting a 2:32.28 then went on to record a 2:20.53 on March 29th in Broenshoej at the Danish Open.

The NTC monthly tests are this week and Pedersen is hopeful that the results are positive, especially in the way that the changes she has made to her diet have effected her testing results, “A new week is just around the corner. A week featuring the monthly tests and plenty of challenges. I’ve been trying to eat healthier since January and I am looking to find out if it has had a positive effect on my body composition and my training. So far I have been faster in the water and faster to recover, so get me on the strenuous training.”

Whatever the results she knows that she can still improve, “On Friday, all my data is in front of me in black and white. Therefore I prepare now to see my options. There is always something that can be better done better or new areas of life as an elite athlete that can be optimized and prioritized.”

I think Rikke has the best 200 breastroke technique of anyone, male or female. It looks like she got robbed last year by some drugs which is unfortunate. Good luck!
