The Uytengsu Aquatics Center at USC was abuzz with the return of Kosuke Kitajima to the Los Angeles Invitational, where he set the meet record in 2010 with 2:11.14. But it was Anton McKee who stole the show, breaking the meet record with a winning time of 2:10.72.

Anton McKee from Iceland has been improving his breastroke times in huge chunks since he started at Alabama; somebody over there must know what they’re doing!
Does anybody know if a swimmer from Iceland has ever medalled at the European Championships? With Britain focused on the Commonwealth Games this year, maybe it’s possible (only Koch of Germany is ranked higher from Europe outside GBR).
Did anybody else know there is such a thing as the “Games of the Small States of Europe”, which Iceland participates in every 2 years? Maybe we should have a “US Swimming Nationals of the Small States”! Finally Rhode Island and Massachusetts would get some respect! Elizabeth Beisel would win everything! LOL!
Danjohnrob – Iceland has won 10 medals in short course, but none in long course, at the Euro Championships.
