As if 14 National Team members and 16 Olympians weren’t enough to get your competitive juices going ahead of Pro Duel Meet 1, which kicks off in Ann Arbor November 16th, there’s more.

Just announced, the meet will also feature the University of Michigan dance team, as well as the University of Michigan Friars – an all-male acapella group (dirty secret – acapella is my favorite genre of music). These are exactly the kinds of ideas that take a swim meet from an amateur, youth sporting event to a professional athletic event.

Check out the videos of the two groups below, and get ready for the awesomeness that will be Pro Duel 1.

Here’s the slick new poster that has been produced for the meet. Want to help publicize the meet? Click here to download a full-sized version that you can print and share with your team!

I am excited, regardless of music genre (I suppose its no longer a dirty secret if you tell people).

This can only help swimming, if not nationally, bringing the best swimmers to the local kids to stir up inspiration. I applaud all those involved with this event and am glad they are trying to change things.
