International Swimming Hall of Fame To Leave Fort Lauderdale

The International Swimming Hall of Fame, Inc., (ISHOF) announced today that upon the expiration of its current fifty-year agreement with the City of Fort Lauderdale, in February of 2015, it will not renew and will look for a new home in another city.

Emory Falls in Dual Meets to D-I UNC Wilmington

Emory University swimmers and divers recorded a combined 11 first place finishes and a pair of NCAA Division III ‘B’ cut times on Saturday afternoon, but ultimately both the men and women dropped their intercollegiate season-opening dual meet at the Division I University of North Carolina – Wilmington.

“After an adventurous ride to Blacksburg, we had an up and down battle today with the Hokies,” said head coach Braden Holloway. “The ladies’ victory was a total team effort and it was great for them. For the guys, it was a rough day. Virginia Tech was ready for us and did a good job. The guys are going to have to be better in order to have success at this level.”

St. Bonaventure Men and Women Come up Short against Pittsburgh

SBU started the meet strong with a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Vatslav Lets, Matthew Schutt, Jimmy Martin and Viacheslav Shchukin broke a pool record with a time of 1:33.49. Shchukin kept the momentum going with a first place finish in the in the 100- yard freestyle with a time of 45.73.

Iowa Downs Spartans, 182-113

The Hawkeyes opened the dual in dominating fashion, posting a 1-2-3 finish in the 200-medley relay. The quartet of David Ernstsson, Andrew Marciniak, Dustin Rhoads and Jackson Allen won the event in 1:30.35.

Shchukin And White Earn Atlantic 10 Weekly Awards For The Bonnies

Shchukin (featured image, left), a sophomore from Krasnoyarsk, Russia, recorded two top-three finishes for the Bonnies at the WNY Invite including a first-place finish in the 100-yd freestyle with a time of 44.34.
