Poll Results: Stanford Has The Best Women’s Recruiting Class with Two Weeks Until Signing Day

With just 13 days go until the early signing period opens on November 12th, our readers have decided that the Stanford women’s recruiting class of 2015 is the best so far.

Of course, this is a fluid vote, as classes change every day, but it’s hard to argue much with the choice of Stanford. The Cardinal have verbal commitments not just from the #1 recruit in the class of 2015 Katie Ledecky,  but also from #6 Ella Eastin. The Cal women have three of the top 5 recruits in National Teamers Kathleen Baker and Katie McLaughlin, plus Junior National Champion Amy Bilquist.

There’s still two publicly uncommitted members of our top 20 recruit ranking, Abbey Weitzeil and Ally Tetzloff. If Weitzeil were to end up at USC (she took a visit there last weekend), the Trojans would move heavily into this conversation, as they’ve already gotten commitments from #’s 14, 18, and 20.

  • Stanford – 48.5%
  • Cal – 25.5%
  • Texas – 7.5%
  • Arizona – 7.4%
  • Other – 7.0%
  • Indiana – 4.0%

Our new poll question is up on the home page: Should swimmers have to practice on Halloween in the afternoon/evening? We imagine coaches and athletes will have distinctly different opinions on this one.

The Card’s recruiting class of 2014 was top dog by a landslide. Seems history’s repeating itself once again this year!

Greg Meehan’s coaching + Stanford’s academic reputation = a scary & intimidating combo that I almost feel sorry for all the other teams. (Not really)

But somehow Texas just beat them in their dual meet??

When you’re considered the cream of the crop only the end game really matters. And that just happens to be an NCAA title.

Put it this way. An undefeated dual record, a Conference title, or the National Championships title?

I know which one Greg Meehan and his team would pick!

Really Now?

Yeah and so does everyone else- All of them. No one just wants to win Ncaas. That’s just absolutely ridiculous.
Yes, OBVIOUSLY Ncaas is the goal, but I bet you Coach Meehan wants people who can step it up at every meet, not just the end of the season taper meet.

Sorry… as good as KL is, Cal just loaded up big-time with #2 – #5. And added another key contributor in Jennifer Campbell; right out from under Coach Meehan’s nose in Palo Alto! Add a notable diver to that group, and it looks like Teri’s 2015 class is a clear #1!

GO BEARS!!!

Weitzell could change everything. If Cal gets her they have to be the top. I don’t think she visited Stanford, right?
