Emily Allen finished 17th overall in the 200m freestyle last night sporting a 1:59.35 in the B final. She was caught making this lovely gesture after her race.

SwimMac NC’s Kathleen Baker earned herself a spot on the Pan Pac roster last night with a 2:10.42 behind Missy Franklin in the 200m backstroke final.

Courtney Bartholomew finished eighth in the 200m backstroke after going into the race third with a 2:10.63 in prelims. She was a 2:13.49 in finals.

Thanks for these great photos! I was just wondering if anybody got one of Aaron Peirsol giving the medal to Ryan Murphy, because Ryan looks like he’s going to become the Backstroke King of the next generation, as Aaron was for his own.

You’re right.
But at the same time I’m tired to say “Ryan Murphy the future US backstroke star”.
I believe I say that for at least 4 years now! I remember writing on swimswam he would win both backstroke olympic gold medals in 2016. He will peak in 2016.
We are in 2014. It’s time for him to take the power!
His first qualification the other day in the 200 back was a good first step.
He has the 100 back today.
He knows what he has to do.
The veterans Grevers, Plummer and Thoman are still there but Ryan can definitely win that race tonight. I want to see a 52 from… Read more »
