Only B Final Scratches for Day 4 Finals in Indianapolis

2017 U.S. NATIONALS/WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TRIALS

There were no major, A-final scratches after prelims today in Indianapolis. As we head into our second to last day of finals, only B finalists scratched out of tonight’s session.

START LISTS

In the men’s 400 free, Stanford’s True Sweetser and Ben Lawless of Central Chesapeake Swimming took themselves out of the B final. Sweetser, who won the 1500 free on night one with the only time under 15 minutes in the field, is probably focusing on tomorrow’s 800 free. He’s the #2 seed, and will be swimming in the fastest heat tomorrow night in finals. Lawless is also swimming the 800 free, and his 10th seed means he will be in lane 5 for the fastest prelims heat of the 800 tomorrow morning, provided nobody scratches ahead of him.

With those two out, Aidan Burns of Santa Clara Swim Club and IU’s Matthew Anderson will get lanes 1 and 8 in the 400 free B final.

Other than those two scratches, the rest of the A and B finals tonight in Indy are intact.
