Olympic Medalists Boudia, Ipsen, Dumais Highlight US Diving World Championship Roster

The USA Diving squad that heads to the 2013 World Championships will look vastly different from the one that went to the Olympics in 2012. Only 3 members of the 2012 US Olympic diving team, all men, will make the trip to Barcelona. That includes 10 meter platform Olympic gold medalist David Boudia, who has become the face of the organization, though he won’t compete on synchro this year where he and Nick McCrory earned bronze in 2012.

That instead will go to Missouri’s David Bonuchi and his partner Toby Stanley.

Also returning on the men’s team is the 3-meter synchro bronze medalists last year Troy Dumais and Kristian Ipsen. Last year, they were partners; this year, Dumais has teamed up with Michael Hixon for that 3-meter competition instead.

The women’s team is entirely refreshed from last year, though that doesn’t mean they are without talent. Arizona diver Sam Pickens was last year’s NCAA Champion on the 1-meter springboard, and Tennessee’s Tori Lamp was the NCAA runner-up on the platform.
