Ohio Breaststroker Patrick Tolloti Commits to Swim for Merchant Marine Academy

“I am honored to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the United States Merchant Marine Academy this summer.  I know the Academy will push me to be the best I can be in the classroom and in the pool and will prepare me for a rewarding career after graduation.  Go Mariners!”

Ohio breaststroker Patrick Tolloti has announced his commitment to swim for the United States Merchant Marine Academy beginning with the 2018-19 season. Tolloti is an Eagle Scout and a senior at Dover High School in Dover, Ohio. He does his club swimming with Canton City Schools and has achieved USA Swimming Scholastic All-American status. Tolloti finished 10th in the 100 breast at the Ohio High School Division I State Championships this February. He was an E-finalist in the 100 breast and 200 breast at the 2018 NCSA Spring Junior National Championship, and recently updated his LCM times at the Mesa TYR Pro Series.

The USMMA swims in Division III of the NCAA. At the 2018 Metropolitan Collegiate Championships, the men’s team finished second to Rowan. Tolloti would have placed third in the 200 breast, a mere 2/100 behind current USMMA sophomore Nolan Monahan. He also would have joined Monahan and freshman Jack Higgins in the A final of the 100 breast, and been on the A/B-final bubble in the 200 IM.

SCY Times:

  • 100 Breast – 57.01
  • 200 Breast – 2:03.03
  • 200 IM – 1:55.98
