NOVA of Virginia Breaks 13-14 800 Free Relay NAG Record

A group of 13-14 boys from NOVA of Virginia Aquatics have broken the 13-14 National Age Group Record in the 800 yard free relay. The team of David DixonCampbell NystromMatthew Whelan, and Jacob Johnson combined for a 7:03.50, which cleared the old record of 7:05.66 set by a City of Plano Swimmers relay from 2008 that included Seth Stubblefield, Cole Brewer, Zach Walters, and Edward Hunt.

The splits:

  • Dixon 1:46.4
  • Nystrom 1:45.4
  • Whelan 1:48.4 (13 years old)
  • Johnson 1:43.2

They weren’t the only team under the record at the meet; an NCAP relay of Timothy WuAndrew AlarconJason Tang, and Will Cumberland combined for a 7:04.62, but as they touched the wall 2nd, they weren’t to have the record.

Cincinnati Marlins 13-14 boys smashed this recod by 7 seconds!!!
