Two-time Coach of the Year Randy Horner has led the Florida International Women to their second consecutive Conference USA title, and is hard at work securing spots to fill his future roster to ensure that the Panthers stay on top.  This week Horner landed Norway’s Stina Heimnes, a breaststroke and IM specialist who currently represents  Bergensvormmerne Swim Club under coaches Finn Zachariassen and Ronny Roberts.  Bergensvommerne is an elite group for three different clubs, which means that Stina also represents her home club Astveit as well.

Heimnes first broke into the international scene by qualifying for the Nordic Championships in 2012.  In 2014, Stina and her club teammates took down the Norwegian Junior Short Course Record in the 4×100 Medley Relay, and she has since been the silver and bronze medalist at Norwegian Long Course and Short Course Championships for the 200 breast at both the junior and senior national levels.

Stina’s brother and sister are twins and both are swimmers  She plans to major in Business Administration.
