Rebekah Bradley, who swims for United Swimming Club in Auckland, New Zealand, has made a verbal commitment to the University of North Texas for the 2016-17 season. Bradley represented Team New Zealand at the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, where she placed 14th in the 50 free and 16th in the 100 back.

Bradley tends to do even better in short-course meters than in long course meters, which should make transitioning to the short course yards format less difficult for her. Her best SCM times over the last year, with their conversion into SCY, have been:

  SCM SCY*
50 Free 25.96 23.38
100 Free 57.05 51.39
50 Back 28.29 25.48
100 Back 59.72 53.80
200 Back 2:11.04 1:58.05
50 Fly 27.34 24.63
100 Fly 1:03.93 57.59
100 IM 1:03.75 57.43
200 IM 2:21.78 2:07.72

* converted using SwimSwam’s Speedo Swim Time Converter

The Mean Green women finished fifth at the 2015 Conference USA Swimming Championships for the second year in a row. Bradley could be a game-changer for NT; her converted best times would have scored in the 50 free (B final), 100 free (B) final, 100 back (A final), 200 yard back (A final), and she should have a big impact on relays as well. North Texas brought in a strong and deep recruiting class this year, so Bradley will join a team that is on the rise in the C-USA ranks.
