NCAA Insider: 6 Months Out, Indiana State Preps For Inaugural Season

In this installment of the SwimSwam’s NCAA Insider, the head coach of the 2016-2017 inaugural Indiana State women’s swimming and diving program, Matt Leach, walks us through his process in building the team from the ground up, just six months from the start of the next academic year.

This is a busy season for all college swimming and diving coaches, even those whose programs haven’t swam their first practice. Coach Leach talks us through his recruiting process and the different state and conference meets the staff has attended to finish off the recruiting season.

Some of Indiana State’s incoming recruits include: Cierra CampbellEmily BoomershineAllie Engstrom, Mykenzie Kostka, Jacquie Price, Emily Ratliff, Cori Taylor, Zoe Williams, Danielle Yagelskiand Katherine Minatra.

The team will be the newest member of the Missouri Valley Conference, which faced an exciting championship meet last week where Southern Illinois University took down eight-time defending champ Missouri State by .5 points.
