Missouri Tigers Get Verbal From Indiana-Based Jackson Kent

Jackson Kent will be representing the Tigers next season, as he’s just given his verbal commitment to join the University of Missouri men next fall. Kent is a swimmer for Fort Wayne Swim Team, and will make the move from Indiana to Mizzou after graduating from Carroll High School at the end of this school year.

Kent was a 2-time finalist at the 2016 Indiana Boys State Championship. His highest finish came in the 200 IM, where he clocked a personal best 1:51.29 to place 6th in the final. He was also 7th in the 100 free in a new best time of 46.00.

Kent’s Top Times:

Event Best time
100 free 46.00
200 free 1:41.46
500 free 4:36.29
200 IM 1:51.29
100 fly 51.00
200 fly 1:50.40

Kent swims a range of events, including IM, butterfly, and freestyle. At Missouri, he’ll do his IM training alongside Alex Walton, who scored in the 200 IM as a freshman at the 2016 SEC Championships. He’ll also be training with Mikel Schreuders, who scored in the 100 free as a freshman at SECs.

Adding Kent to the roster could help the Tigers make up for some of their graduation losses. The Tigers will be graduating Andrew Sansoucie and Martin Wallace, both of their returning butterfly scorers from last season’s SECs, at the end of this season.
