Missouri State Picks Up Verbal from Sarah Wehrmeister

Texan Sarah Wehrmeister has been a standout for Atascocita High School since moving into the district as a sophomore.  She has been a region finalist in the 200 IM both her sophomore and junior year, and in the 100 freestyle her junior year for the Eagles under coach David Pink.  She has also been part of a Texas State Champion and First Team All-American 200 and 400 freestyle relay, splitting as fast as 23.3 in the 50 and a flat start 52.5 in the 100 free, with hopes to do more as there is a lot of time left for improvement before her senior year is up.

Sarah also represents the Eagle Swimming Association under coach Mike Robinson, and has competed as high as the NCSA Summer Junior Nationals in Indianapolis.  Her current best times would have already landed her in A-final position multiple times at last year’s Missouri Valley Conference meet, making her a valuable pick up in the Bears effort to extend their Championship streak.

“I was lucky enough to meet such a great team at MSU. They really were like a family, and coming from a high school and club team that is extremely close, that’s exactly what I was looking for! I’m so excited to become a part of the bear family next year.”

Sarah’s top times:

200 IM SCY 2:05.30

200 BK SCY 2:03.5

100 FR SCY 52.58

100 FLY SCY 57.97
