The Missouri State swimming and diving team is set to host crosstown rival Drury in the Bears’ annual Homecoming meet on Friday, Oct. 27 at Hammons Student Center. The meet is slated to begin at 6 p.m. and will be live streamed on ESPN3.

Bear Bites
The women’s team enters Friday’s meet after its first program win over the Kansas Jayhawks and South Dakota. They brought down the Coyotes, 267-85, and ground out a 188-164 victory over the Jayhawks. Josie Pearson, Ashley Yarbrough, Sarah Allegri, Sydney Zupan and MVC Swimmer of the Week Libby Howell each brought in victories in the double dual.
Howell picked up her first collegiate victories, claiming the 200, 500 and 1000 free. Pearson ended the weekend with four individual victories, claiming the 100 and 200 fly, as well as the 200 and 400 IM.
The Missouri State divers had a great showing against Kansas and South Dakota as well. Yarbrough, a freshman, claimed both the 1- and 3-meter boards while newcomer Michael Claunch picked up a win of his own on the 1-meter board.
Yarbrough’s performance on the 3-meter board landed her a spot on the MSU all-time top-five list. After bringing in 292.55 points, she sits fifth all-time in in the 3-meter event.
The men pulled out a win in its inaugural meeting with South Dakota, claiming victory by a score of 224-123. Led by Will Brand and Artur Osvath, who picked up his second B-cut of the season, a total of 11 men won individual events against the Coyotes.
MSU’s distance swimmers Antonio Thomas (1000 free) and Minki Kang (500 free) each claimed an event while William Frisbie, Christopher Heye, Thomas Heye, Lucas Paloschi and Phillip Willett won their respective events.
The men lead the Mid-American Conference in 10 separate events while the women hold the top spot in five MVC events.
