Miriam Sheehan of Phoenix Swim Club Breaks Girls 10 & Under NAG in 50M Back

Ten-year-old Miriam Sheehan of Phoenix Swim Club jumped right into long course season, pulling down a National Age Group record in her first meet. Swimming at the Phoenix Long Course Opener in Phoenix, Arizona, Sheehan dropped 5.2 seconds (what?!) from her best time last season and clocked a 32.44. Sheehan zoomed right past the 32.85 mark that Grace VanBrunt of Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team had set at Clearwater Aquatic Club’s World Championships Trials Qualifying Meet in 2013.

Sheehan finished the 2014-15 short course season with the top-ranked 50y back time for 10 & Unders with 28.65. She was second in the 100y back (1:02.49).
