Mid-Season Notes: University of West Florida swimming and diving face Ouachita Baptist Sat Jan 3rd

The University of West Florida women’s swimming and diving team will return to action this Saturday, Jan. 3 at home against Ouachita Baptist, and the Argonauts will do so as the No. 14 ranked team in Division II according to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

UWF came in at No. 14, dropping one spot from No. 13 in the first CSCAA poll of the season in November. Drury is No. 1 in the poll, followed by Queens and Wingate, in that order. Delta State is the top-ranked team from the New South Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Conference at No. 12, followed by UWF at No. 14 at St. Cloud State at No. 21.

The Argonauts have swimmers ranked in the national top 25 in 10 different events, as well as all five relays. Peggy de Villiers (Somerset West, South Africa) and Anna-Marie Macht (Markkleeberg, Germany) are both ranked in the top 25 in three different individual events. Macht is eighth in the country in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.78, the highest individual rank for an Argonaut.
