Miami’s LeMire Named MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND—Miami University sophomore swimmer Stephanie LeMire was named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. She led the RedHawks to a 188-111 win over Cincinnati on Saturday, Jan 10. It is the second MAC weekly award of LeMire’s career, both coming this season.

LeMire had another big day for the RedHawks, winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.62. She finished 1.47 seconds in front of a second-place Miami finisher and 2.38 seconds before the first Cincinnati swimmer touched the wall. LeMire also swam a 2:18.74 in the 200-yard breaststroke, earning her another first-place finish. She finished 4.61 seconds before the second-place Cincinnati swimmer. LeMire also competed in the winning 200-yard medley relay, clocking in at 1:46.78.

 

The women’s swimming and diving team takes on Buffalo in a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 16 at noon in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
