Mannion, Louser, Tuggle Among #1 Seed Scratches At Juniors Day 2

2019 USA SWIMMING SPEEDO JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The top seeds have scratched out of three of this morning’s six events: the girls 200 back and both the boys and girls 400 IM.

Claire Tuggle, last night’s 800 free winner, scratched out of the 400 IM, where she was the top seed. She’s not in any events this morning, and it’s possible the likely World Juniors roster member is done with the meet entirely.

Top-seeded Natalie Mannion bowed out of the girls 200 back. She’s already qualified for World Juniors there, and might also be a full-meet scratch this week in Palo Alto. Meanwhile Jason Louser is in the same situation: his 400 IM qualified him for World Juniors, and he scratched out of all his prelims events yesterday and today. Louser was slated to swim the 400 IM.

There are a bunch of scratches out of the 400 IMs, and most of them World Juniors roster members. Tuggle, Isabel Gormley, Grace Sheble and Justina Kozan are on the likely girls roster, and Louser on the likely boys team.

Here are all of the scratches out of circle-seeded heats on Wednesday’s prelims start lists:
