Manaudou On Singapore World Cup Roster

Another big name has signed up for the Singapore stop of the 2015 FINA World Cup series.  In addition to the previous announcement that America’s Missy Franklin will be attending the event, Swimming Singapore revealed that French sprinting phenom Florent Manaudou will also be hitting the pool at the OCBC Aquatic Center on October 3rd and 4th.

Manaudou is of course coming off of a red-hot World Championship performance in Kazan where the 24-year old nabbed double gold, winning both the men’s 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly individual events.  Manaudou was also a key asset on his country’s gold medal-winning 400m freestyle relay. 2015 represents the first World Cup series in which Manaudou will be partaking, as may well be the case with other international athletes seeking even more long course racing exposure leading up to Rio.  The previous World Cup series were all held in short course pools, but will be long course for 2015 in light of athletes’ Olympic training foci.
