Lucas Conrads, Tyler Distenfeld and Elijah Venos Commit to Denison

Lucas Conrads, Tyler Distenfeld and Elijah Venos are current high school seniors who have committed to swim for Denison University beginning in fall 2021. They will be joining the Big Red’s class of 2025.

Lucas Conrads

Lucas Conrads is from Naperville, Illinois and is a current swimmer for Fox Valley Swim Team along with swimming for Waubonsie Valley High School.

At the 2020 IL Swimming Senior Championships, Conrads placed was the champion in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:21.58. He was also the 200 freestyle champion (1:41.61) at the IHSA Boys Sectional Championships – Metea Valley. He is also a Junior National qualifier.

With his current best times, Conrads would have had multiple finals performances with Denison at the NCAC Championships. Most notably, he would have placed 3^rd in the 500 freestyle (4:28.46), 5^th in both the 200 backstroke (1:51.75) and 1650 freestyle (15:40.31), 6^th in the 200 freestyle (1:40.80) and 7^th in the 400 IM (3:59.55).

Tyler Distenfeld

Distenfeld is a current swimmer for the West Shore YMCA Ducks in Mechanisburg, PA. He also swims for his high school at Cumberland Valley.

At the 2020 YMCA PA Central District Swimming Championships, Distenfeld placed 4^th in the 100 backstroke (54.01). He also placed 5^th in the 500 freestyle (4:39.23) at the PIAA District 03 Boys AAA Championships.

At the 2020 NCAC Championships with Big Red, Distenfeld would have placed 8^th in the 200 freestyle (1:42.69) and 13^th in the 500 freestyle (4:36.63) with his current best times.

Elijah Venos

Venos attends and swims for Brother Rice High School along with swimming for the Atlantis Swimming – BBA. At the 2020 Catholic League Championships, Venos won the 200 freestyle and placed 3^rd in the 100 freestyle. He is also a Junior National qualifier.

Earlier this year at the NCAC Championships with Denison, Venos would have placed 9^th in the 200 freestyle (1:42.74), 10^th in the 100 breaststroke (57.75) and 12^th in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.71) with his current best times.

At the NCAC Championships this year, the Big Red placed 2^nd as a team. Forty team members were named as CSCAA All-Americans and team member Bebe Wang given Academic All-America team member of the year honors.
