The Owls at Florida Atlantic have landed a potential contributor to help them move up the ranks within Conference USA with a commitment from Crawfish Aquatics butterfly standout Ashlyn Hunt. Ashlyn should have an impact for FAU right away as her butterfly at both the 100 and 200 yard distances would have landed her solidly in the B-final at the 2016 C-USA Championship, and she is within striking range of a scoring spot in more.

Ashlyn swims High School for Lafayette High in Lafayette, LA for Tamara Reeves where she holds a 3.8 GPA with a full slate of honors classes. She currently hold school records in the 100 fly and 50 free, and has taken the Louisiana High School Division 1 State Title all four years.  She is also a Futures qualifier for Crawfish Aquatics in Lafayette, LA under Thomas & Lyndsey Clavier.

According to Thomas Clavier: “She has one of the prettiest butterfly strokes I have ever seen. She is a natural swimmer and combine that natural ability with a love to race and a willingness to train that adds up to a great package deal. I am very proud of her.”

Ashlyn told SwimSwam: “I chose Florida Atlantic University because as soon as I met the girls on the Team and the Coaches I knew this was the place for me. I wanted to be part of a Team and have a professional Coaching staff that would continue to push me in the pool. Not to mention being near the beach isn’t so bad.”
