Lauryn Reno Transfers to Pacific; Will Take Reins from Brother Brandon

Lauryn Reno from Roseville, California will head to Stockton in the fall to swim at University of the Pacific where her brother Brandon Reno wrapped up his collegiate career with the Tigers in 2019-20. Unlike Brandon, who in his senior season placed 5th in the 200 breast (1:58.48) and 7th in the 100 breast (54.43) at 2020 MPSF Championships, she specializes in free and fly.

Reno graduated from Oakmont High School in 2018 and spent two years at Whittier College. She swam her freshman season but took a year off competing last year after the Poets lost their 2018-19 coaches. Reno made the Dean’s List at Whittier last fall.

Reno swims club with Wolverine Aquatics. During high school, she competed in the 200 free, 100 back and 100 fly and swam on Oakmont relays at CIF-Sac Joaquin Championships. She will join Anna Grinberg as a newcomer on the Tigers’ roster this fall.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 free – 56.74
  • 50 free – 26.68
  • 100 fly – 1:03.58

The Pacific women finished 7th at 2020 MPSF Championships, 59 points behind Cal Poly. Reno will join a sprint group that includes Allie Emery, Kathleen Gani, Elina Rosario, Rilie Krieg, Brooke Helgeson, Kendall Bromley, Jessica Clark, and Vivian Truong.
