Kwicien-Delaney Wins Twice at Canadian Age Group Champs

The Canadian Age Group Championships began on Wednesday July 25th and summoned about 1600 athletes from age 12-18 to the Talisman Centre in Calgary, AB. Bigger names from last weekend’s Senior National Championships are present, but the times are significantly slower across the board. There were, however, significant times posted in many age groups. Of note, from the last 2 days are: 
  • Bryce Kwicien-Delaney of the Oakville Aquatic Club winning 15-year-old boys 100 butterfly (57.73) & 15-year-old 100 freestyle (51.61)
  • 18 Year Old Mohamed Eldah of the Dartmouth Crusaders winning the boys 17-18 100 butterfly (55.62)
  • 18 Year old Russel Wood of hometown Calgary, winning the men’s 200 backstroke (2:04.54) and 50 backstroke  (26.29)
  • 15-year-old Kennedy Goss of the Granite Gators winning the girls 100 freestyle in a best time of 57.23
  • Pointe Claire, Qc’s Alexia Zevnik with an upset victory in the girls 16-18 100 freestyle over Richmond Hill’s Victoria Chan (3rd 57.37) in a time of 57.14.
  • Noemie Thomas of Vancouver easily winning the girls 16-18 100 butterfly (59.44)
  • 18-year-old Brooklyn Snodgrass of Calgary winning the women’s 200 backstroke (2:14.28) and 50 backstroke (29.26)
  • The 17-year-old wonder, Erika Seltenreich-Hodgson cruising to an easy victory in the girls 16-18 400 individual medley with a time of 4:47.52. Manitoba’s Breanne Siwicki was second in 4:52.52.
