Kushagra Rawat from the SAI Glenmark TIDM Programme in Delhi achieved the “B” Cut for the Tokyo Olympics as he swam a time of 3:52.75 in the 400m freestyle for men. This is also the best time achieved by an Indian in the event.

Kushagra already achieved the “B” Cut in the 800m freestyle in Bangkok last year.

Swimming at the Olympic Center at Sydney, Kushagra won bronze in the 2020 NSW Open Swimming Championships in the 400m freestyle. He clocked 3:55.48 in the heats and 3:52.75 in the finals. He broke the existing best Indian time of 3:54.93 set by Sajan Prakash at Thiruvananatapuram in 2018. It also betters the Olympic “B” Cut time of 03:53.58.
