Kevin Cordes 100 Breaststroke American Record, 51.10, Video Interview

University of Arizona sophomore Kevin Cordes broke his own American record at 2012 AT&T Short Course Nationals in Austin Friday night. His time of 51.10 was more than two tenths lower than the previous mark of 51.32 from 2012 NCAAs.

On his way to breaking the American record, Cordes also broke Michael Alexandrov‘s meet record which was only .03 slower than the American. Alexandrov finished second in the event in a 51.62. The US Open record is still held by Cal’s , who went 50.86 in 2009.

ok, this guy is 6’5, 180 lbs. isn’t he suppose to be swimming freestyle?
