Triton Swimming’s Emma Skinner has given her verbal commitment to the Kentucky Wildcats for next fall. Skinner, who swims with Oldham County High School, finished 10th in the 100 back, 12th in the 100 fly, and was a part of two relays for Oldham (though neither scored).

Skinner’s Top Times

  • 100 back – 57.91
  • 200 back – 2:05.54
  • 200 breast – 2:22.56
  • 100 fly – 57.31
  • 200 IM – 2:08.17
  • 400 IM – 4:32.61

All of her above times were done prior to 2015 save for the 200 breast– the versatile Skinner had never broken 2:26 before this past fall, when she swam her best time. As she gears up for swimming with Kentucky, breaststroke and IM might be the path she chooses to focus on collegiately.

Kentucky has had lots of success in fly, IM, and backstroke in recent years. Christina Bechtel finished up 6th in the 100 fly and 2nd in the 200 fly at NCAAs last season (though she has since graduated), while Danielle Galyer and Bridgette Alexander both scored in the 200 back last season. Galyer and Alexander also led the team in the 200 IM last season. Skinner isn’t ready to score at the SEC level yet, but she’ll be surrounded by dedicated and experience talents who specialize in the same events as her.

Kentucky’s stacked class has gotten even bigger. Skinner joins the following:
