The Kentucky men and women rolled to victories last night on Senior Day over the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats.

Senior Isaac Jones won the 200 free (1:37.53) and 400 IM (3:54.11), capping off his last dual meet races of his career on top. Matthew Beach was another double winner for the Wildcats, taking the 100 fly (49.25) and 200 fly (1:48.35), and the Kentucky men dominated both relays en route to a big victory.

Asia Seidt won twice on the women’s side, going 1:58.78 to take the 200 fly and then coming back to win the 400 IM (4:18.78). She also anchored Kentucky’s B 200 free relay with the field’s best split of 22.72. Geena Freriks dominated the 1000 free (9:51.27) and then turned around to win the 50 free (23.76) in a feat of range.

Senior Bridgette Alexander was victorious twice in her last dual meet, going 54.66 to win the 100 back and then 52.06 to take the 100 free.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky swimming and diving program ended its regular season on a high note, posting impressive wins over Cincinnati for Senior Day. The men’s team defeated the Bearcats, 207-91, while the women’s team won, 201-89.

“It was a great day to recognize our seniors,” said Kentucky head coach Lars Jorgensen. “It was a lot of fun. Our senior captains Bridgette AlexanderMorgan BelliIsaac Jones were all phenomenal in leading the charge today. It was a great day overall. We’ve got to be a lot better in a couple weeks and hopefully we will.”

The Kentucky women’s team posted a first-place finish in all but one event in the outing, while the men’s team won all but two.

The Wildcats got off to a strong start as the women posted a 1-2-3 sweep in the 400 medley relay. The men’s team followed that with a 1-2 finish of its own in the relay.

On the women’s side, senior Bridgette Alexander turned in two top finishes for UK. Alexander touched the wall in 54.66 to win the 100-yard backstroke before winning the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.09.

Fellow senior Morgan Belli had a pair of wins of her own, sweeping the women’s breaststroke events. Belli recorded a time of 1:03.05 to win the 100 breaststroke, while she posted a 2:16.82 to take the 200 breast title.

Kentucky swept both the men’s and women’s diving events, as sophomores Emma Dellmore and Kevin Frebel won both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events.

Senior Isaac Jones picked up a duo of victories for the men’s team. Jones won the 200 free in 1:37.53, leading Jason HeadPeter Wetzlar and John Mitchell in a 1-2-3-4 finish for the Wildcats. Jones also led Kentucky in a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 400 individual medley.

Junior Matthew Beach swept the butterfly events for the men’s team, winning the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.78 before taking the 100 fly in 49.35.

The Wildcats will have a few weeks break before heading to College Station, Texas, for the Southeastern Conference Championships from Feb. 14-18.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Cincinnati swimming and diving dropped a meet to a tough University of Kentucky team on Friday night on the road. The men fell 207-91 and the women lost 209-89.

• The Bearcats continue to be strong in distance swims as Chris Bready won the men’s 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:06:91 and Din Selmanovic finished second at 9:15:70
• Rocky Laabs finished second in the 200 freestyle, coming to the wall in 1:51:79
• Lindsey Niehaus came in third in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 58:00
• Kennedy Herbert placed third in 100 breaststroke at 1:05:29
• Zach Hostoffer was second in the 100 breaststroke. He got to the wall in 56:39
• Niehaus also got to the podium in the 50 freestyle, finishing second with a time of 24:01
• William Sigala also placed in the 50 freestyle, finishing third in 21:29
• Maddie Exton placed second and Claire Farrell placed third in the 100 freestyle with times of 52:74 and 52:82, respectively
• Sigala added another third place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45:57
• Natalie Obando was third in the 200 backstroke at 2:05:01
• Dee Sopapong was third in the 200 breaststroke at 2:21:32
• Hostoffer added another second-place finish, this time in the 200 breaststroke in 2:05:31. Dom Polling was third in the event at 2:05:62
• Laabs recorded the second win for the Bearcats on the night. She took the 500 freestyle in 4:55:30
• Bready and Selmanovic tied in the 500 freestyle, bringing in the fastest time of 4:29:52
• Simone Palomo took second in the 100 butterfly, coming in at 57:47
• Sigala once again had a top finish. He finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49:90

• Claire Schuermann finished third in 1-meter with a score of 263.70 and third in 3-meter with a 280.35
• Mitch Godar finished fourth in 3-meter with a 273.75
• Issac Karn finished fourth in the 1-meter with a score of 252.90

// COMING UP NEXT
• The Bearcats host their final meet Saturday at the Keating Aquatic Center
• Diving will start at 10 am and swimming will follow at 1 p.m. against Kenyon
• The program’s seniors will be honored at 12:30 p.m. in a special ceremony
• It will also be Signature Saturday with select student-athletes signing autographs on the pool deck post meet
