Junior 7.5K Open Water Champion Jacob Pishko Verbals to Navy Class of 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Raleigh, North Carolina’s Jacob Pishko has announced his intention to swim at the United States Naval Academy in the class of 2026.

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the Naval Academy! I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me along the way. I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve our country, and cannot wait for the adventures ahead! Go Navy! Beat Army! ⚓️“

Pishko is currently a senior at the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. He plans to do a post-graduate year at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania, through the Academy’s Foundation program, in 2021-22, before beginning as a plebe at the Naval Academy in the fall of 2022.

Pishko is currently training with coach John Payne in the distance group at TAC Titans. In April, he won the Junior National title in the 7.5K race at USA Swimming’s 2021 Open Water Junior National Championships in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. In 2019, he placed 13th in the Junior National 5K race in Miami.

In pool swimming, he has improved his times across the board since the start of his senior year. In September, he kicked it off with PBs in the 50 free, 200 back, and 100 breast in a TAC dual meet against YOTA. In November, it was the 100/500 free and the 200 IM at TAC Big Southern Classic. He added PBs in the 1000 free and 100 fly in December, and in the 200/1650 free, 200 fly, and 400 IM at Cary Sectionals in March. There, he finished 4th in the mile, 5th in the 200 fly, 14th in the 500 free, 20th in the 400 IM, and 21st in the 200 free. He also picked up a lifetime best in the LCM 200 fly in Cary. Last month, he improved his times in the 800m free, 100m fly, and 400m IM at TAC’s Long Course Premier meet.

Top SCY times:
