Julie Meynen Earns SEC Female Swimmer Of The Week

Male Swimmer of the Week
Nils Wich-Glasen • South Carolina
Junior • Coburg, Bayern, Germany

In South Carolina’s dual meet against Duke, Wich-Glasen earned first-place finishes with B-cut times in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. His time in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:57.38) set a new pool record at the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion, besting the previous time (1:58.91) he set in 2015. Wich-Glasen currently has six first-place finishes this season, with four coming over SEC schools.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Julie Meynen • Auburn
Freshman • Luxembourg

Meynen swept the sprint freestyle events in a dual meet with No. 5 Texas. She won the 50 free in 22.75, out-touching second place by .01 seconds and the 100 free in 49.89 seconds, out-touching second place by .09 seconds. Meynen also swam the second leg of the winning 200 free relay. She is undefeated in the 100 free this season and has swept the sprint freestyle events in the Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas dual meets.

Female Diver of the Week
Julia Vincent • South Carolina
Junior • Gauteng, South Africa

Vincent took first place in both springboard events in the dual meet against Duke. She scored 306.53 in the one-meter and a season best 373.28 in the three-meter, qualifying her for Zone diving in both.

Female Freshman of the Week
Karling Hemstreet • Texas A&M
Cedar Park, Texas

Hemstreet swept the 200 free and 200 backstroke in the Aggies’ win over the Mean Green of North Texas. The freshman touched the wall in 1:49.82 in the 100 free and 2:05.19 in the 200 back for her first wins as a collegian.
