Must be willing to be certified with USA Swimming which means CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training and a background screen. Practices are offered in South Charlotte on weekdays between 3 and 8pm, and Saturdays before 12pm. Swim meets are once per month, on weekends up to (but not always) 3 1/2 days (Thursday night, Fri/Sat/Sun).

Applicants must have swimming experience through competition and coaching. Compensation will be hourly for practices, meets will be paid by sessions worked and mileage driven if out of town.

The successful candidate will also teach in our required physical education program as well as assume the role of Aquatics Coordinator of the new W&L Natatorium, opening in February 2017. Carolina Aquatics, based in Columbia SC, is looking for a Age Group Coach to assist in our Age Group and Developmental Programs at our new year round outdoor pool location in Lexington, SC.

Responsibilities of this position include coaching, assisting in dryland, as well as administrative duties related to the group and overall team operations. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, experience with swimming as a coach or athlete, excellent organization and communication skills, and a desire to study and progress as a coach and professional.

The Age Group Coach is responsible for running practices at our Lexington SC pool location for children ages 12 and under and 13 and over. Practice times during the year are from about 4:15 pm – 7:30 pm M/W/F and 5:30 pm – 7:30pm T/TH. Saturday practices are from 6:30 am until 11:00 am. During our summer season, practice times run 5:30 am – 8:00 am Monday – Saturday.

Requirements for this position: The individual should be able to offer excellent customer service to our membership, offer a high level of energy on a daily basis, be a positive person displaying good communication skills, working well with all swimmers, parents and other coaching staff. CPR, First Aid and Safety Training for Swim Coaches is required. Reimbursement will be paid for certification fees. The individual should have at least 2 years of coaching experience with USA Swimming.

This is an hourly position that has the potential to lead to a full time salaried position.

Three Rivers Aquatic Club (TRAC) was incorporated in the summer of 1999. Approximately thirty-five families joined together to form a private swim club who would train at the Helen P. Brown Natatorium. The club has grown to as large as 90 families and 150 swimmers. The Helen P. Brown Natatorium is a 43,000 square foot, state-of-the-art aquatic facility that features a 50-meter by 25-yard main pool and an additional small therapy pool, a diving well, locker rooms and shower facilities. A large mezzanine gives spectators a bird’s eye view of the swimmers below. The national award-winning design of the facility was completed in 1996 and was part of the renovation of South Side High School.

 

Philosophy TRAC believes lessons learned in the pool are lessons learned for life. Each swimmer is encouraged to cultivate competitive skills and sportsmanship in swimming. TRAC’s training philosophy builds solid character by promoting core values of honesty, respect, commitment, and self-discipline. Utilizing a progressive age group program develops our swimmers both physically and mentally in a step-by-step process. Younger swimmers focus on proper swimming technique and developing a love for the sport. As swimmers progress, more demanding physical and mental challenges are introduced into the training.

 

 

Position

Three Rivers Aquatic Club is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a Head Coach. This position requires a minimum of 5 weekday evenings and 2 mornings on deck coaching the club’s senior age group. Weekend hours will vary for swim meets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching for the senior group for a year round USA swim team. Possess a passion for the sport of swimming and a deep desire to foster a positive training environment for all swimmers.
  • Focused on teaching advanced skills and stroke technique, preparing swimmers for competition, and racing strategies. Prepare swimmers to compete on a State, Zone, and National level.

  • Must be a registered coaching member of USA Swimming with current credentials

  • Candidates must take and pass a criminal background check
  • Be able to provide excellent communication with the parents of swimmers as well as all members and staff

Compensation
