Buffalo Area Aquatic Club seeks head swim coach.

You will lead swimmers and assistant coaches in meeting their swimming goals. BAAC has swimmers at skill levels from novice to Speedo Sectional qualifier and need a coach who can inspire every swimmer to do their best. Our goal is to have every swimmer leave practice wanting to come back tomorrow and end the season eager for the next to start. True excellence requires a love of the sport and we expect our coach to make the challenge enjoyable. We want the coaches who work under you to move on to bigger and better things and we expect you to mentor them to do just that.

You will be coaching in our home pool at SUNY Buffalo, a NCAA Division I university and home to the UB swimming and diving team. Long-course time is built into the training schedule and the facility itself is first-rate. A satellite high school pool facility is used for some practices and training groups. We typically have three part-time assistant coaches.

Responsibilities

The Head Coach is responsible for the wet-side operations of the club and certain dry-side functions (ie pool scheduling, meet entries, new swimmer registration, staffing, etc.) He/she coaches the team’s highest training group, collaborates with the BOD, directs and mentors the assistant coaches, conducts parent education sessions, helps to recruit new swimmers, represents the team at LSC meetings, and develops relationships with the local high school coaches.

We know that for our team to be successful, the coach needs room to coach as well as support and education to help him/her improve. We know you are passionate about swimming; so are we.

Our ideal candidate possesses the following:

● Current USA Swimming Coach Certification in good standing, with a clear background check. Certification in American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and Coaches Safety Training.
● Excellent knowledge of stroke technique and proven ability to communicate that knowledge to swimmers and coaches.
● Experience as a swimmer or assistant coach at a high-performing club and/or collegiate level. If you’ve haven’t been a head coach yet but have drive and a great swimming pedigree, we want to talk to you.
● Superior organizational skills up to the task of administration of a USA Swim Club.
● Ability to manage swimmers across multiple training groups.
● Proficiency with swimming software (TeamManager, TeamUnify) helpful but not required. Ability to pick them up quickly is.

Salary

This is a year‐round, salaried position with compensation based on qualifications and experience in the $30,000 – $40,000 range, with potential for bonuses and medical insurance allowance. Education and meet travel expenses are reimbursed.

Must be able to start by September 1st.

About Buffalo Area Aquatic Club

Buffalo Area Aquatic Club is a year-round USA Swimming club of 80 swimmers who won the 2015 Niagara LSC short course championship (small teams), and has consistently placed in the top 3 for both short- and long-course seasons. Multiple age group and senior swimmers have represented the team at Zone, Sectional and Arena Pro series competitions, and most graduating seniors are going on to swim at the college level on athletic scholarships. BAAC holds Recognition Level 2 as a Board-governed team and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 3. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, equivalent of education and experience will be considered.
4. Extensive knowledge of the apparel industry, swimwear highly preferred.
5. Applied experience; in the development of account relationships, product categories, channel strategies and the study of industry trends.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, employees and others with whom the company conducts business.
7. Proficient with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).

The Brookings Swim Club (BSC), a USA Swimming club in Brookings, SD, is seeking an inspiring full time Head Coach with excellent leadership, technical expertise, communication and team building skills to coach and mentor our year-round team of approximately 85 athletes.

Brookings is the 4th largest city in South Dakota (22,000+ population) and is the home of South Dakota State University. It is a vibrant, growing community with an excellent school system and a safe, friendly and progressive environment. Primary Responsibilities

• Coach senior and competitive groups and oversee other groups. This includes, but is not limited to, developing a swim program that is technically, age and developmentally appropriate, for both water and dryland training, and that allows swimmers of different abilities to reach their highest potential
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate assistant coaches, including preparation of daily and seasonal works outs, skill sets, group practices
• Support the team’s mission, vision and core values by providing leadership and team management in a professional manner. Ensure that all team operations are completed in a timely and organized manner
• Attend swim meets throughout the winter and summer seasons
• Attend and participate in Board meetings as a non-voting member
• Lead swimmer recruitment/retention efforts
• Foster solid relationships with athletes and families

Minimum requirements:

• Meet all USA Swimming coaching requirements
• At least 2 years of swim coaching experience and 1 year of management/administrative experience
• Must be a US citizen or currently eligible to work in the US
• Have a contagious and enthusiastic attitude and ability to motivate swimmers

Desirable requirements

• ASCA level 2 certification or higher
• Previous experience as head coach
• Experience as a competitive swimmer

Salary and Application Requirements

BSC offers a competitive salary package commensurate with experience. The potential for financial incentives may be available and will be negotiated when an employment contract is drafted. Paid vacation, paid professional development and travel expense reimbursement for meets are included.

Job Posting – EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Scottsdale Aquatic Club (SAC), located in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a motivated, passionate and experienced individual for its executive officer position.

The executive officer will be a year-round, full-time, salaried position based on qualifications and experience.

Salary

Salary will be commensurate with experience and will include performance-based incentives.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION EXPECTATIONS:

  • Preferred university degree in business field or equivalent experience in business related field, including finance/accounting experience.
  • Preferred minimum 3 years of head coaching experience of large swim club or college program. Experience in multi-site program a plus.
  • Experience in managing a coaching staff and experience in staff development/education.
  • Experience in working with municipalities or other organizations that control facility use.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the head coach to implement the vision of the club with membership (staff, swimmers, parents).
  • Effectively communicate with staff, parents, facility/municipality staff, etc.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reports for board meetings.
  • Oversee annual budget; provide monthly/quarterly profit and loss statements/reports for board meetings.
  • Oversee compliance with USA Swimming, Arizona Swimming and municipality regulations.
  • Maintain records of required various insurance policies and the like and renew when necessary.
  • Oversee club fundraising events and communicate with committee chairperson for each event.
  • Recruit, retain and grow the program, specifically in south Scottsdale area.
  • Oversee equipment needs and purchases.
  • Oversee team travel arrangements for events.
  • Abide by policies established by the board of directors.

About SAC

SAC is regarded as one of the premier swim clubs in the western United States with nearly 400 athletes including Junior National, National and Olympic Trials qualifiers as well as a professional group. Currently SAC trains at three City of Scottsdale facilities including Cactus Park, a 50m x 25y outdoor pool.

University of South Dakota seeks Graduate Assistant Swim Coach.

Assist the head coach with the management and oversight of all aspects of the Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving program including: practice / competition activities, skill development, recruiting, coordinating team travel, and scheduling. All responsibilities must be in compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policy and procedures.

This position requires extensive hours, including nights and weekends.

Compensation
