Jimmy Feigen, Breeja Larson Among Pros To Compete In 7th Annual Bill Nixon Memorial Meet

In its second year as a pro-am, the 7th Annual Bill Nixon Memorial Meet will be hosted by Lakeside Aquatic Club in the Lewisville Independent School District’s Westside Aquatic Center in North Texas June 11-14, 2015. This year the meet’s cash prizes have grown to over $10,000. LAC is bringing back the exciting 50 Free Shoot-Out that was debuted at the meet last year.

The Shoot-Out works like this: the prelims for the 15 and over 50 free swim Saturday morning. The top 32 female and top 32 male finishers from the prelims will move on to the quarterfinals, which will take place during the Saturday Final session. The top 16 female and top 16 male finishers from the quarter final round, will move onto the semifinals (Sunday morning). The top 8 female and top 8 male finishers from the semifinal round, on Sunday morning, will move onto finals on Sunday night.
In addition to the 50 Free Shoot-Out, cash prices will be paid out for the 100’s of stroke.

Pros that are slated to swim at the meet include Olympic Gold Medalist Breeja Larson, Olympic Silver Medalist Jimmy Feigen, World Championship Gold Medalist Megan Romano, Olympian Nina Rangelova, and Olympian Liliana Ibañez. Competing with these pros will be college swimmers as well as top swimmers from North Texas teams and select invited teams.

The top three from last year’s women’s 50 Free Shoot-Out are set to square off again this year, as 2014 winner Nina Rangelova, second-place Lauren Pitzer, and third place Breeja Larson will swim the event again this year at the 2015 Bill Nixon Memorial Swim Meet.
