USC’s Jasmine Tosky has scratched the semi-finals of the women’s 200 fly on Monday at the 2013 World University Games, despite that being her only swim in the Monday evening session.
Tosky was the 3rd seed coming out of the morning prelims in 2:12.24, which should further extend the margin of the top-seeded Katerine Savard from Canada and Kona Fujita in Japan.
Russia’s Yana Martinova and Australia’s Amy Smith both move up to the 3rd and 4th seeds, respectively.
The new top four seeds, and medal contenders:
1. Savard, Canada, 2:11.38
2. Kona Fujita, Japan, 2:11.72
3. Yana Martynova, Russia, 2:12.59
4. Amy Smith, Australia, 2:13.21
Tosky also swam the 50 fly and the 100 fly, and could potentially swim the fly leg of the 400 medley relay on Tuesday, but otherwise is done for the meet.
Colombia’s Ana Maria Perez moves up into the semi-finals after a 2:29.07 in the semi-finals.
In addition to her swimming duties, Tosky has been responsible for most of the photos that USA Swimming is capturing at the meet.
