In-state Butterflyer Tanner Cummings Commits to Louisville

Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Tanner Cummings has signed an NLI to swim for the University of Louisville next fall, joining fellow class of 2022 commits Colton Paulson, Hayden Curley, and Kyle Worrell.

“I’m excited to verbally commit to continue my academic and athletic careers next year at the University of Louisville. I can’t wait to be apart [sic] of such an amazing team. Go Cards!”

Cummings is a senior at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green; he swims year-round for RACE Aquatics Swim Club. At the 2018 Kentucky High School Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships in February, he placed third in the 100 fly (50.32) and won the consolation final in the 100 back (52.49). He split 22.50 on the fly leg of the 8th-place medley relay and 20.87 anchoring the 13th-place 200 free relay.

In club swimming, Cummings competed at Winter Junior Nationals East in the 50/100 free and 100 fly. He wrapped up his senior year with SCY best times in the 50/100/200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 50/100 fly, and 200/400 IM. He already earned new best times in the LCM 100 breast and 50/200 fly this spring at the Southern Zone South Sectional Championship at Plantation, Florida.
