Kali Franckowiak, a junior at Plainfield Central High School and Maverick Swim Club in Naperville, Illinois, has announced her verbal intention to swim at the University of Wyoming in 2020. A middle distance freestyle specialist, Franckowiak already has career fastest times in the 200 and 500-yard freestyles that would have scored points for the Cowgirls at the 2019 Mountain West Conference Championship meet.

At the Illinois High School State Championship meet back in November of 2018, Franckowiak took 14th place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.84) and secured a place on the podium with a 7th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.61). At the 2019 Illinois Swimming Senior Championship meet she finished 20th in the 100-yard freestyle (52.940, 14th in the 500-yard freestyle (5:03.90), and 8th place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.01).

- 50 free – 24.03
- 100 free – 52.16
- 200 free – 1:50.80
- 500 free – 4:57.49
Franckowiak will be able to make an immediate impact at Wyoming right away; along with having times good enough to score points at conference, she would have been able to make the ‘A’ 800 free relay for the Cowgirls and would have moved their final time from an 8th place finish to a 7th place one. She is the first class of 2024 commit for coach Dave Denniston.
