Korrie Tengan of Hilo, HI has verbally committed to swim at Fresno State University beginning in the fall of 2021. Tengan swims club at the Warrior Aquatic Club and she attends Waiakea High School.
Tengan most recently competed at the Hawaiian Swimming Age Champs, swimming the 200 back, the 100 and 200 breast, the 100 and 20o fly, and the 200 and 400 IM. She placed within the top four in each event, winning the 200 breast and the 200 IM. She finished 4th in the 200 back, 3rd in the 100 breast, and second in the 100 and 200 fly and the 400 IM. She ended the meet with new personal best times in the 200 back, the 100 and 200 fly, and the 200 and 400 IM.
In February, the Waiakea High School junior swam at the K Mark Takai Swimming and Diving Championships. She finished 4th in the 200 IM (2:06.82) and 3rd in the 100 breast (1:05.91). She swam the backstroke leg of Waiakea’s 200 medley, touching in 27.86. She was followed by Kyrie Bartolome, Courtney Kim, and Kayla Okazaki for a 12th place finish. The four women also swam the 200 free relay, again placing 12th.

- 100 breast – 1:04.74
- 200 IM – 2:04.91
- 50 back – 27.13
- 100 fly – 56.55
- 200 fly – 2:05.45
Tengan will be a top swimmer for the Bulldogs. Her top times would have made her the third-fastest 100 breaststroker behind Megan Ridenour and team record-holder Manuela Mendolicchio. Her 200 IM would have placed her third behind Mendolicchio and Lucy Davies, and her 100 fly would have been third behind Kimberly Harbert and Mackenzie Hutler.
Futures qualifier Sera Hanagan has already committed to swim for Fresno State’s class of 2025.
