The French Federation is releasing a series of quick-hit videos on the FFN YouTube channel introducing members of France’s 2016 Olympic team in facts and figures. The videos are all under a minute and are a great way to portrait France’s stars for the Snapchat crowd.
In this video, we learn that Camille Lacourt:
-was born on April 22, 1985 in Narbonne, France;
-began swimming at the age of 5;
-joined the development group in Font-Romeu in 2001;
-won his first French national titles in 2007, and broke the French record in the 50 back;
-participated in his first international long course meet at the 2009 World Championships in Rome;
-won 3 medals at the 2010 European Championships in Budapest and was named Swimmer of the Year;
-became the first French swimmer to win a World Championship title when he tied with Jérémy Stravius to earn the gold medal in the 100 back in 2011 in Shanghai;
-finished 4th in the 100m back at the 2012 Olympic Games in London;
-is a 21-time French national champion;
-is a 5-time European champion;
-is a 4-time World champion;
-measures 6’6-1/2” (200 cm) and weighs 187 pounds (85 kg);
-is 31 years old.
