Fike Swim is thrilled to announce the addition of Olympic Gold Medalist Breeja Larson to its ever-growing team of brand ambassadors.

“Breeja is a really special person. Beyond all the swimming accolades, she has an amazing knack for making you feel like a close friend from the moment you meet her. She has a passion for the sport and for her fans that’s palpable. We couldn’t ask for a better addition to the Fike Swim ambassador team!” said Fike Swim founder, James Fike.

Breeja rocketed to fame in 2012 when she won Olympic Trials in the 100 Breast, beating out favorites Rebecca Soni and Jessica Hardy. Her rise continued in 2013 and 2014 with American Records, National titles, and international medals. She hit a speed bump when she was unable to make the 2016 Olympic Team, a story we’ll cover in an upcoming 33 Meters, but at 27 years old she is making a comeback and a statement that she’s stronger, faster, and tougher than ever. As a veteran of everything this sport can throw at you, she’ll be going into 2020 Trials even better than she was in 2012. And while she preps for Omaha, Breeja will be helping Fike Swim test and roll out more of the innovative products it is becoming known for.

“I’m excited to partner with Fike Swim! We’ll be testing new and innovative gear to better advance the sport of swimming. It’s exciting to work with an up and coming brand!” added Breeja.

Breeja Larson’s long list of swimming accomplishments include:

  • 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist (400 Medley Relay)
  • Current U.S. National Team Member
  • 9x American Record Holder
  • 2014 Pan Pacific Games Bronze Medalist
  • 2013 World Champion Gold Medalist (400 Medley Relay)
  • 5x USA Swimming National Champion
  • 3x NCAA Champion
  • Texas A&M School Record Holder – 100 yard breast (57.23)

Q&A with Breeja Larson

Here’s a short Q&A with Breeja. The complete Q&A with post-workout meals, season and practice goals, and more can be found by visiting Fike Swim’s ambassador page.

Q: What are your practice goals to help you reach your race goals?
A: “1. Create a perfect body line with each stroke by reaching further while maintaining a neutral head position.
2. I do a mini dry-land before I ever get in the water.  I want to be ready to perform well as soon as possible, so getting myself ready to swim before I start warm up is crucial.  That requires stretching, rolling out on the foam roller, ab work…read more

Q: How many yards per week do you usually swim?
A: “25-30K”

Q: What is one of your favorite sets?
A: “My favorite sets involve a lot of racks/buckets. I really like doing rounds- for example:
4-5 rounds:…read more

Q: How did you get into swimming?
A: “My family loved doing summer league swim teams growing up, but I didn’t start swimming club until my senior year in high school. I loved playing sports growing up but my junior year I realized that an athletic scholarship was my best opportunity to pay for college so I chose to join Mesa Aquatics Club. They were kind enough to grant me a scholarship to swim so I could continue swimming year around.”

Q: What is something most people probably don’t know about you?
A: “I’m learning Spanish right now!  I hope to be fluent in a couple of years. My boyfriend and his family speak Spanish in the home and I hope to fully understand and join them so they don’t always have to translate for me. I’ve always loved the latin culture and get excited whenever I get to experience and be part of it.”

Between Breeja, the upcoming launch of our first swimsuits, our new apparel, and the holidays, we thought now would be a good time to celebrate our best year with a giveaway.

About Fike Swim

“We design products exclusively for the toughest athletes in the world.  We unapologetically place swimmers on a pedestal.  The rigors they embrace on a daily basis can only be understood by another swimmer and they deserve a company focused 100% on helping them succeed.  Whether you’re just starting out or training for Tokyo, we stand behind you.”

– James Fike, Founder

Fike Swim Products was born when founder James Fike put a brick on top of a kickboard and transformed just another legs-only kick set into a total body workout felt into the next day. Since then it’s been our mission to create unique swim equipment with the single-minded goal of making you faster. We don’t sell toys. We create tools to help you reach your potential.

Well, this better not be rigged like that “Mortar” giveaway. (*Clearly* I won that. Very unfair!)

Lol this one’s totally out of our control. It’s in Breeja’s hands. Good luck! 😁
