Emmanuel Victorious over St. Andrews; Fall to SCAD in Tri Meet

Swim Meet results

The Emmanuel College Lady Lions traveled to Laurinburg, NC on Saturday to compete in a Tri meet with SCAD (No. 3 ranked team in NAIA) and St. Andrews University.

Emmanuel outscored St. Andrews (120-27). SCAD outscored Emmanuel (128-60).

All totaled, the ladies won two of the nine individual events and one of two relays.

“Congrats to the SCAD Lady Bees, this was a great experience for our ladies to compete with a top-3, nationally-ranked NAIA team,” said Head Coach Allen Gilchrest.  “They are a very strong team and we look forward to competing with them again at NAIA nationals in March.  The St. Andrews Lady Knights competed well against our Ladies, I am proud of our Lady Lions team effort, especiallyEmma Tamblyn swimming the 1000 for the first time and Stephanie Gratz swimming the 200 IM for the first time.”

All eight ladies contributed points in the individual events for EC showing a true team effort.

EC Men’s & Women’s Swimming hosts Warren Wilson College on Saturday February 1 in their final dual meet of the season. This is also EC Swimming’s Senior Day. The team will recognize its two Seniors, Male swimmer Keene Johnson and female swimmer Justine Wright.

MEN

All totaled, the Men won one of the nine individual events and finished third in both relays.

“Congrats to the SCAD Bees and the St. Andrews Knights, this was a great experience for our men to compete with two top-3, nationally-ranked NAIA teams,” said Head Coach Allen Gilchrest.  “These two teams have very good depth. We look forward to competing with them again at NAIA nationals in March.”

All eleven EC men contributed points in the meet, showing a good team effort.
