Emma Reaney Moves Back To Notre Dame To Continue Training

After spending her second summer in a row training in Charlotte with SwimMAC Carolina’s Team Elite, American record holder Emma Reaney has decided to move back to South Bend, Indiana and resume training with the Notre Dame women’s team.

Notre Dame’s new head coach, Mike Litzinger, has been sharing a lot of content on social media that featured Reaney, but until yesterday, it was unclear if she was simply visiting or if she had made a permanent move.

Reaney had her best year during the 2013-2014 season where she broke the American record in the 200 breaststroke en route to becoming the 2014 NCAA Champion. That summer, she earned a spot on the US National Team with a 2:27.47 200 meter breaststroke.

This summer she was a little off of her times from the year before, but she won a bronze medal for the United States and the World University Games in the 50 breaststroke.
