Dynamo’s Will Coady Makes Verbal Commitment to In-state Georgia Tech (2022)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Will Coady from Milton, Georgia has verbally committed to swim for the Georgia Institute of Technology beginning in the fall of 2022.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech. I am honored to be a part of such a prestigious school and swim program. Thank you to my family, friends and my Dynamo and Flood Aquatic coaches for your support and to the Georgia Tech Coaching staff for your confidence in me. Go Jackets!”

Coady is a junior at Milton High School, which he began in September when his family moved to Georgia from Florida. Previously, he had swum for Flood Aquatics and The Kings Academy in Florida. In the 2019-20 season, he was on the relays (with teammate Josh Zuchowski) that were the first in the school’s history to make All-American. This season, swimming for Milton High School, he anchored the 200 and 400 free relays at the Georgia 7A High School State Championships. Both relays were runner-up and both made the All-American consideration standard. Individually, he placed 4th in the 100 free (46.10) and 6th in the 50 free.

Coady does his year-round swimming with Dynamo Swim Club. Since the start of 2021, he has updated his times in all his best event, as well as several off event. Beginning with the Georgia Eastern Classic in January, he went best times in the 100 back, 100 breast and 200 IM. Next, he improved his LCM times in the 50 free (24.66), 100 free (53.71), and 200 free (1:59.83) at the Dynamo Long Course Elite Meet at the beginning of March. Two weeks later, it was the 50/100/200/500 free, 50 back, and 100 fly at the Georgia Senior Short Course State Championships.

Coady has made huge strides over the last two years. In August he dropped 9 seconds in his 200 free to clock in at 1:42.04. Now he has whittled it down by another 1.2 seconds and has almost cracked the 1:40 barrier.

Best SCY times:

  • 50 free – 20.85
  • 100 free – 45.63
  • 200 free – 1:40.85
  • 500 free – 4:42.88
  • 100 fly – 53.94
  • 50 back – 25.01
  • 100 back – 55.48

Coady will join the Yellow Jackets in the fall of 2022 with Adam O’Brien, Cade Martin, and Stephen Jones.
