Jefferson, Georgia’s Camille Porter has made a verbal commitment to swim for Auburn University next year. A senior at Jefferson High School, Porter currently holds 8 school records in swimming and 3 school records in track & field.

Porter trains at the Athens Bulldogs Swim Club under Coach Harvey Humphries and Coach Jos Smith. At Jefferson High School, where she swims for coaches Lane Guzman and Chad Klinck, Porter has qualified for the Georgia State 1A-5A Swimming Championships 6 times and been a finalist in the Georgia State Track Meet 4 times. Her highest finish was a 4th place in the 800 meter run in 2:23.

Porter’s personal best swim times are:

  SCY LCM
50 free 24.38 28.24
100 free 52.60 1:01.22
50 back 28.87 33.36
100 back 59.16 1:09.66
200 back 2:10.50 2:32.22

Porter has made the decision to pursue only her swimming in college and turned down a dozen offers from across the country to commit to Auburn. Her decision will mark the first time she concentrates on just one sport; this should be an opportunity for Porter to develop into a true sprinter in the pool.
