Worlds Day 6 Prelims Scratches: #6 Seed Foldhazi Out of Men’s 200 Back

2016 SHORT COURSE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

There were only two major scratches this morning going into the final session of prelims of the 2016 FINA Short Course World Championships. Rio Olympian David Foldhazi of Hungary, who came into the meet seeded sixth, has scratched out of his signature 200 back. In addition, Austria’s 2012 Olympian Lisa Zaiser is out of the women’s 200 breast, after coming in seeded 18th.

Meanwhile, a quartet of teams, listed below, have scratched out of the women’s 4×50 free relay.

  • Austria: Women’s 4×50 free relay
  • South Africa: Women’s 4×50 free relay
  • Finland: Women’s 4×50 free relay
  • Great Britain: Women’s 4×50 free relay

Though there are only five events this morning, the women’s 4×50, men’s 200 back, women’s 200 breast, men’s 4×100 medley, and women’s 4×100 medley, we will get to see a ton of big stars in action, including Rio Olympic silver medalist Mitch Larkin in the 200 back, Olympic bronze medalist Shi Jinglin in the 200 breast, and young American heroes Jacob Pebley and Lilly King
