Day 1 Full Recap here.

In team battles that are expected to be as contentious as the SEC Championships, every swimmer in every A, B, or this year C final can have a huge impact on a team’s overall finish. With that in mind, let’s take a look at who ended up where after day 2′s prelims. For the sake of time, we’ll focus on the teams expected to be contending for top 3 finishes at this meet.

For those unfamiliar with the terminology: “Up” means a swimmer who is in the A-final, as those swimmers cannot fall lower than 8th barring a DQ. “Mid,” new for this year, is what we’ll call teams in the “B” final, who are bound from 9th-16thplaces. “Down” will mean C-finalists, who are between 17th-24th place. Keep in mind only the A-final in diving is fought-out.

Women’s tables are updated through the women’s platform prelims. The men’s tables are final as well.

The Florida men again lead the finalists on this day, but as we move into the shorter stroke races, the Missouri Tigers are going to start making their big move up the standings. On the women’s side, Auburn had their best day so far with 6 in the A-Final, being matched by A&M. Both of those teams also have 4 in the B-Final, but Georgia got three more swimmers into C-Finals and as such should maintain their growing lead after day 4. A&M should start pulling ahead of and put a little distance between themselves and Florida tonight as well.

If Tennessee wants to get back into the hunt for the top three, the session-opening 200 fly will be the place to do it, with two swimmers into the A-Final.

A reminder of the team standings through three days, followed by Up/Mids/Downs.
