Dates, event orders set for 2014 South American Swimming Championships in Argentina

The South American Confederation of Swimming (CONSANAT) has released major details on this fall’s South American Championships, including competition dates and event lineups.

The pool swimming portion of the Championships are slated for October 2nd to October 5th of this year, a Thursday through Sunday meet. The competition will take place in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, which is where most of the other water sports will have their championships, including water polo, synchronized swimming and diving.

Open water is the only event that will take place away from Mar del Plata. The open water swims will be run in Buenos Aires. Open water will also happen later in the month, October 26, 28 and 29.

Diving is scheduled to happen concurrently with swimming, October 2-5, with synchro (Oct. 8-11) and water polo (Oct. 7-11) to take place the following week.

Here is the order of events for the swimming. Prelims will be at 10 AM local time, finals at 6 PM.
