Distance Standout Micka Headlines Czech Roster for Short Course Worlds

On Monday, November 21, 2016, the CSPS Executive Committee officially approved the Czech roster nominations for the 2016 FINA Short Course World Championships. There are 14 swimmers that have been named to the roster, including 6 men and 8 women. There are also 6 staff members making the trip, including 4 coaches, a team leader, and a physiotherapist.

Among the 14 swimmers who will be making the trip are 6 swimmers who represented the Czech Republic at the 2016 Rio Olympic games: Jan Micka, Pavel JanecekSimona BaumrtovaBarbora Seemanova, Lucie Svecena, and Barbora Zavadova. Micka recorded the highest finish for a Czech swimmer at the Games, touching 12th in the men’s 1500 meter free.

The 2016 Short Course World Championships will be held in Windsor, Canada. Several Olympians and elite athletes will gather in Windsor when the competition takes place from December 6th to December 11th.
