CW Coach Kelton Graham Fired for Soliciting Prostitution in Omaha

Club Wolverine‘s head coach Kelton Graham was fired today after being arrested on the suspicion of soliciting prostitution while in Omaha, Nebraska for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to one day in jail.

Graham was arrested about 10:40 pm at the AmericInn Hotel and Suites near the CenturyLink Center during an Omaha Police Department sting operation.

A total of 11 people are behind bars after the sting.

Omaha City Prosecutor Matt Kuhse told KMTV Action 3 News that operations like this won’t be tolerated in the city during the Trials.

“Part of it is to send a message that this kind of behavior is not going to be tolerated from people coming into town from Omaha for the swim trials or for the colleges World Series,” Kuhse said.

Graham took over as the head coach of Club Wolverine in 2011. He has been with the club for a total of ten years.

A message went out the the team earlier tonight saying that he had violated his contract terms and been terminated.

USA Swimming has told KMTV Action 3 News that they will follow their disciplinary process because of the arrest.

If Kelton had gone to a bar and picked up a woman, and spent the same money wining and dining her and then taking her to discrete hotel, there won’t be all this fuss. And shame on the Omaha police for getting involved in this hypocrisy and dressing like prostitutes and pretending to be prostitutes.

THOSE WITHOUT SIN THROW THE FIRST STONE.

Based on your responses, it is clear that most of you do not know Kelton very well or at all. Without knowing all the details, I think there was some sort of mix up or perhaps even a setup (I realize he plead guilty). I have known Kelton since he was 12 years of age and for the almost thirty years that I have known him he has always been a complete and total “Swim Nerd”. As a young man, he was not interested in fashion, hanging out, or dating. Kelton ate, drank, and slept swimming. He was this way, not because people pressured him, but only because he truly LOVES swimming. … Read more »

I pity the fool

Clearly you’re to close to the situation to understand how idiotic your copying and pasting of this statement is. With all your evidence it sounds to me like he was doing everything in his power to come off like he wouldn’t do the exact thing that he plead guilty to … I pity you

Let’s examine your life for all the disgusting things in it. It’s always the biggest critics with the most to hide. Take a chill pill Dennis Hassert.

Who cares that Kelton is an “upstanding ” man?! He broke the law & should be punished accordingly. I feel for all his “friends ” on this post, but, “your sin will find you out.”,

If you google “Kelton Graham” and click on images – the 4th picture is his twitter profile picture. How did the CW board let this guy coach kids? How did nobody catch that?

This makes me sad! Kelton is a wonderful man and awesome coach! He was with our son through thick and thin! That being said, what a shame that he would make such a poor choice, and spoil his reputation in front of the very athletes and young people he is supposed to be mentoring! Prayers to him and his family! Not a mistake one can come back from! CW made a very difficult choice, but the right one!

Speaking Up for the Kids

Sad day. I don’t think comparing this to child molestation being carried out by coaches is fair. Breaking the law is wrong. Contributing to the indenturement of women and possibly human trafficking is terrible. But what is a 1,000-times worse? Those coaches molesting the kids they are entrusted with coaching. What’s sick and even worse than that is that people and institutions turn a blind eye to it and make excuses for serial pedophiles. Inaction is the same as condoning the behavior. Aiding and abetting.

Is it because there are multiple people guilty of the same thing and all looking out for each other, enabling it to happen?

The kids don’t have anyone to speak up for them. Except… Read more »

If you look back in Omaha history, they have been doing this sting consistently for years for college world series and trials. I think it is wrong on Omaha’s part to year after year just target these events. I was in town for both since my kids were doing both. The traffic Police did a terrible job moving traffic, the marathon while 2 huge events were going on made it nearly impossible to put my kids where they needed to be for their events, but they have enough man power to target the people visiting their city and contributing to the economic growth over the summer. I do not want another Omaha Trials after the extremely poor experience this time… Read more »

i think you need to give the police a break. Maybe they are being pressured by the citizens of Omaha to crack down on this stuff during these events when these prostitutes come from all over the USA. Maybe they are just doing what their bosses (the citizens) want them to do?

What transpired before the arrest? Is there any more information other than the charges of solicitation.

I don’t automatically trust the justice system. I would not discount entrapment here due to a number of factors.
